Whether you’re prepping a quick kachumbari salad, a side of finely shredded cabbage for your roadside-style nyama choma, or thinly sliced veggies for a stir-fry, this tool cuts the prep time from minutes to seconds.

Also known as: mandoline slicer, vegetable grater, cabbage shredder, V-slicer, vegetable shredder, vegetable mandoline

• Sharp V-shaped stainless steel blade for effortless slicing — the dual-angled blade creates a scissor-like cutting action that glides through dense vegetables like cabbage and potato without requiring excessive downward pressure; slices come out uniform and clean every time.
• Wide, thickened ABS body handles large whole vegetables — the widened platform accommodates a full cabbage half or a large cucumber in a single pass; the reinforced thickness means the board stays flat and stable on the counter or over a bowl during use.
• Safety hand guard included — protects fingers from the blade — the matching food holder grips your vegetable firmly with internal teeth while keeping your hand safely above the blade; essential for confident, fast slicing without the anxiety of exposed fingers near a sharp edge.
• Works across a wide range of vegetables — slices cabbage into fine coleslaw strips, cucumbers into thin rounds, potatoes into chips thickness, and carrots into julienne for salads, soups, and stir-fries across Kenyan and East African cooking styles.
• Hanging hole for space-saving storage — hang directly on a kitchen hook or wall rail when not in use; slim profile takes up minimal drawer or counter space in compact Nairobi apartment kitchens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can this slicer adjust to different thicknesses?

This model has a fixed V-blade that produces one standard thickness — thin-to-medium slices ideal for salads, coleslaw, and stir-fries. For adjustable thickness settings, consider the 22-piece Vegetable Slicer set (SKU 1000) which includes multiple blade options.

Q: Is the blade safe to clean by hand?

The stainless steel blade is sharp — always use the included hand guard or a dishcloth when wiping across the blade. The safest method is to rinse under running water with a brush rather than wiping with your bare fingers.

Q: Can I use it to slice onions?

Yes — the V-blade will slice onions thinly and consistently. For stronger, denser onion varieties common in Kenyan markets, press firmly with the hand guard and use a smooth, steady pass across the blade.
